A consortium comprised of four U.S. firms including Global Business Advocates LLC have joined forces to propose conducting a feasibility study for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater and site restoration in the City of Guaymas in Sonora, Mexico. The current environmental conditions in Guaymas are critical as the City does not have adequate treatment or disposal of sanitary sewage. The City discharges over 22,700 cubic meters (6 million gallons) of wastewater per day into the bay. This body of water, also receives discharge of significant waste-loads

of untreated industrial waste from fisheries in Guaymas' industrial park. Trying to stay ahead of the curve on this issue the consortium has appealed to federal government agencies for funding for the proposed study.

The study could lead to a very positive developmental impact for Guaymas which has high potential for development and tourism.

Anticipated as one of the last and great port and rail projects on the West Coast of North America, the Punta Colonet Port and Rail Development Project continues to make slow, steady progress through the various decision making levels within the Mexican government. Having published the RFP last September ('08), the SCT (Mexican Department of Transportation) is now modifying the bid rules to better align the process with the realities of today's economic climate.

A winner is still scheduled to be announced

by December, '09. Global Business Advocates LLC is teamed with Consortium Seaport Services de Bahia Colonet (CSS) led by former Baja Norte Governor Ernesto Ruffo and backed by American and international rail, terminal, shipping, and financial interests on the project. CSS has successfully resolved longstanding issues with regards to the railroads and Port and has positioned itself in a very strong bid position. For more info call us at (562) 522-2017.

Tony Morris, CEO, American Maglev Technology Inc. (AMT), and client of GBA, announced last week that AMT had approved the release of a just completed marketing video demonstrating AMT's magnetic levitation technology. The video was filmed at AMT's operational test track in Powder Springs,

Georgia. AMT, known for designing privately funded, zeroemitting, next generation transportation technology that responds to the worldwide demand for passenger service and goods movement currently has proposals pending to deploy pollution free cargo moving maglev technology systems at

West and East Coast Ports. Founded in 1994, AMT has attracted significant corporate investment by staying on the cutting edge of high-tech, magnetic levitation technology. For a copy of the video, please call us at Global Business Advocates at (562) 522-2017.
