GBA Supports Training Program
for Vietnamese Port Officials

Former Boeing C-17 Executive Named
California Veteran Advocate of the Year

Global Business Advocates is honored to be working with Dr. Hanh Dam Le-Griffin, Ph.D. and the Le- Griffon Institute, a non-profit educational organization establishing a Port Management and Technologies training program for Vietnamese government officials and Por t industry managers implementing Vietnam’s National Port Development Plan.

The Le- Griffon Institute has long recognized the importance of providing national and provincial port officials with training on international port management pract i ces and standards for port design and technologies.

This training promotes infrastructure development and government policies that support growing U.S. – Vietnam trade. Dr. Hanh Dam Le-Griffin is a respected educator and port consultant in the U.S. & overseas.

When I asked Port of Los Angeles Executive Director and USC Instructor Dr. Geraldine Knatz for some advice on presenting a guest lecture for USC graduate students studying port planning issues she emailed me, “Talk about what you know and time will fly by!” How right she was. My colleague, Mark Griffin and I discovered first hand how fun and stimulating teaching students can be in the college environment as we joined forces to teach a class on Port Development and Planning.

The California Employer Council recently recognized former Boeing C-17 Executive and highly decorated Vietnam Veteran Craig Mandeville as the 2007 Veteran Advocate of the Year. The annual award is given to the person who most distinguishes him/herself by outstanding service to veterans on behalf of the California employer community.
