When I asked Port of Los Angeles Executive
Director and USC Instructor Dr. Geraldine Knatz
for some advice on presenting a guest lecture for
USC graduate students studying port planning
issues she emailed me, “Talk about what you
know and time will fly by!” How right she was. My
colleague, Mark Griffin and I discovered first hand
how fun and stimulating teaching students can be
in the college environment as we joined forces to
teach a class on Port Development and Planning.
